Your Body Changed. That Doesn't Mean You Have to Start Over.
You're already eating well and staying active. The problem usually isn't how hard you try. It's that your effort is pointed at the wrong lever. This short book shows you how to find the one that moved, and leave everything else alone.
By day 7, you'll know which one change is worth your energy, and which habits to leave alone.
Keep what works. Change one thing.
Built on guidance from The Menopause Society and CDC data on midlife sleep. Written by M. R. Calloway (pen name). Published by Strong Midlife. Education, not medical advice.

Why the Same Effort Pays Off Differently Now (and Why Doing More Isn't the Fix)
There's an important distinction between changes in where your body stores fat and changes in your overall weight.
Menopause can influence fat distribution, particularly around your middle. Meanwhile, aging, muscle mass, sleep and everyday habits affect weight in other ways.
Those are the body changes. The usual response to them is where most plans go wrong.
When results shrink, the usual advice is more: a stricter diet, longer workouts, a brand-new plan. But an overhaul replaces the habits that were already doing their job, and it asks for the most energy at the stage of life when sleep runs shortest: in a CDC survey, 56% of perimenopausal women aged 40–59 slept under seven hours a night.

The effort isn't the problem. Where it's pointed is. Keep what's working, and put the next bit of effort on the one lever that changed.
Weight changes in midlife can also have other causes, like thyroid problems or medications. Talk to your doctor before changing how you eat or exercise.
Before Doing More, Find What's Worth Keeping.
Walking is already doing its job.
The better question is whether strength, sleep or what's on the plate needs the next bit of effort.
The goal isn't to assume everything needs fixing. It's to take stock of what you're already doing before deciding what to adjust.
Meet the One-Lever Reset
Most midlife plans say do more of everything. The One-Lever Reset says find the one thing that changed. After 45, muscle, sleep and hormones shift, so the same effort lands differently. Look Back shows you what's still working. Pick One shows you where the next bit of effort belongs. Make It Fit puts it into a real week. You keep your walks, your family dinners and the habits already doing their job.
Three Steps. One Manageable Change at a Time.
You don't have to figure out everything at once, or give up the walks, the family dinners or the foods you like.
Your Effort, Pointed at the Right Thing
By day 7 you'll know which one change to make this week, and which habits to leave alone.
Picture knowing exactly which change is worth your energy this month, and which habits to leave alone because they're already working. Dinner is the same dinner as everyone else's. A short night means the smaller version, not a skipped week. And at your next appointment, you walk in with your questions written down.
Your Gift: The 7-Day Menopause Starter Plan
A Practical Way to Begin—Without Changing Everything at Once
Understanding the different factors involved in menopause weight management is useful.
Having a structured way to review them can make that information easier to apply.
That's why My Body Changed. Now What? includes a seven-day starter plan.
Before making major changes to your eating or exercise routine, the plan gives you a way to review your current habits, explore different areas of daily life, and choose one manageable adjustment worth focusing on.
Small Steps. A Clearer Direction. A Plan That Fits Your Life.
The goal isn't to promise weight loss in seven days. It's to help you begin with a clearer understanding of your habits and a manageable direction for what comes next.

Why Is the Printed Book Free?
Bookstores keep most of a book's price, and a book on a shelf rarely reaches the women who need it. So we print it, give it away and ask only for the $12.95 to cover printing and shipping. If it helps you, we hope you'll stay for what we make next. That's how a small publisher grows.
Strong Midlife is a small, independent publisher of plain-English books for women in midlife. This book draws on guidance from The Menopause Society and published research on sleep, muscle and weight in midlife.
